If you are looking for a health and energy boost then you might be particularly interested in trying our Spirulina powder.
First used by the Aztecs as an endurance-booster, it is a true superfood! Spirulina is often described as a type of blue-green algae that grows in both fresh and salt water. It is extremely nutrient dense and is known for containing a powerful plant-based protein called phycocyanin. As well as being a potent source of nutrients, spirulina is a fantastic antioxidant, hailed for its ability to protect against free radical damage from oxidative stress. It has also been studied for its anti-inflammatory effects.
An excellent source of vegan protein containing essential amino acids, it also contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium; and because it is a low-calorie food, containing a lot of nutrition in a small amount of powder, introducing spirulina to the diet may help people to lose weight without sacrificing good nutrition.
With a slightly bitter taste people often mix spirulina with yogurts, juices and smoothies. 3g is generally the daily recommended minimum amount.
