Lactobacillus Acidophilus is one of the most prominent micro-organisms found in your small intestine. It produces lactic acid which inhibits yeast growth as well as natural antibiotics. Acidophilus is only one of the probiotic (friendly bacteria) that occurs throughout your digestive tract. Poor eating habits, stress and antibiotics in food can cause the fine balance between the good and bad bacteria to change, and allow the bad bacteria to multiply.
When the ratio of good bacteria to bad is lowered, problems begin to arise such as bloating, gas and poor absorption of nutrients.
These Acidophilus capsules contain a strain of the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus Acidophilus plus other friendly bacteria - Lactobacillus Rhamnosus and Lactobacillus Plantarum. Also included are FOS (Fructo-oligosaccarides) – non digestible fibres specifically fermented by probiotic bacteria. As such these fibres help increase the 'good bacteria' in the colon.
One capsule provides a culture of 7.5 billion live native bacteria from 3 separate bacterial strains.
